This innovative approach taken by Office created huge consumers’ positive feedbacks on Twitter and news medias as well.
Excitement needed to be brought to the Office brand as April approached and a large number of our Japanese consumers began school, new jobs, and moved. As so much surrounding the Office brand is mired in functionality and practicality, we wanted to do something disruptive, challenge consumers’ perceptions and get people talking about Office in a new light, creating buzz on social media.
Our Solution
To show that Office is not just all about business, we created LIVEBALL. A special smart ball machine was custom built and played remotely, including augmented reality experiences, via the web by our consumers.
Visitors to the campaign microsite or the Facebook Office account were able to play a game on the machine and provided with chances to win a number of different prizes in the course of a game. Players were rewarded for Facebook Likes and Shares with additional plays, with Microsoft capitalizing on the social currency created by the activity.
